Lee School of Music to Host All-East Audition Workshop

Cleveland, TN (10/19/2026) — Lee University's School of Music will host the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association (ETSBOA) All-East Audition Workshop on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to noon. The workshop is open to high school students in grades 9-12 preparing to audition for the 2026-27 All-State East Senior Clinic Bands and Orchestra through ETSBOA.

Participants will take part in masterclasses and workshops led by members of the Lee University School of Music faculty.

"Preparing for an audition gives students a chance to grow far beyond the music on the page," said Dr. Jesse McConnell, director of music events and part-time professor of tuba and euphonium at Lee. "The ETSBOA All-East Audition Workshop provides practical instruction, encouragement, and focused preparation to help students strengthen their skills, perform with confidence, and continue developing as young musicians."

A Halloween costume contest will also take place during the workshop with the top three winners earning discounts for the 2026 Lee University Honor Band & Orchestra registration, held in November.

First place will receive 100% off the $15 registration fee, second place will receive 75% off, and third place will receive 50% off.
