Lee University Chorale and Choral Union to Perform Tuesday
Cleveland, TN (10/08/2026) — The Lee University School of Music will present Chorale, directed by Dr. Cameron Weatherford, and Choral Union, directed by Dr. Kay Dick, in a concert on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall.
"We're excited to welcome the community for an evening of beautiful choral music showcasing the hard work and dedication of both Chorale and Choral Union," said Dr. Jesse McConnell, director of music events at Lee.
The concert will feature a diverse selection of choral music spanning centuries and styles. Choral Union will perform Francesco Durante's "Magnificat," an 18th-century sacred work featuring soloists and instrumental accompaniment, while Chorale will present works ranging from Jake Runestad's contemporary "Alleluia" and Stephen Paulus' "The Old Church" to Jason Robert Brown's "Sanctuary," arranged by Mac Huff. The program will also include John Wykoff's "Beautiful Morning," "Ain't No Grave Can Hold My Body Down" by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory, and Ross Bernhardt's "Prayer of St. Patrick."
Lee University Choral Union is a unique blend of Lee music and non-music majors and is open to all interested in singing with no auditions required. The group performs choral music and major masterworks for mixed chorus and orchestra.
In addition to coordinating music education and conducting at Lee University, Dick directs Choral Union and serves as an active educator, clinician, and adjudicator. She has taught music to students of all ages for more than 40 years, including 20 years in K-12 education and positions at Samford University, Auburn University, and Union University.
Dick holds a Doctor of Philosophy in vocal music education from Auburn University, a Master of Church Music from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Music in music education from Louisiana College.
