Lee University's Helen DeVos College of Education to Host All Abilities Event

Cleveland, TN (10/08/2026) — On Saturday, Oct. 17, students from Lee University's Helen DeVos College of Education will host the sixth annual All Abilities Event for individuals with diverse abilities.

The gathering will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Lee's Ray Conn Sports Complex and will offer games, music, dance, sports, and more for individuals of all ages. The day also provides parents and caregivers with a few hours of respite.

Students from the Helen DeVos College of Education will plan and lead the activities, giving them an opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom while interacting with individuals with diverse abilities.

"Events like this give our students an opportunity to see the impact they can have beyond the classroom," said Dr. Kimberly Moffett, associate professor of special education at Lee. "They are not simply learning how to work with individuals with diverse abilities; they are building relationships, gaining confidence, and discovering the joy that comes from creating opportunities for others to participate and thrive."

The Ray Conn Sports Complex is located on Paul Conn Parkway.

The All Abilities Event is offered at no cost to participants. To learn more or to reserve a spot, contact Moffett at kmoffett@leeuniversity.edu or call (423) 614-8672.
